The Jersey Coast chapter held their first Hamfest  September, the 13th, 2009  ...  .

It was a huge success.. Vendors came, buyers came and others, hams and civilians alike, came... they all enjoyed the day. It was to have ended about 10:30 am, but both, vendors and buyers were still milling about till  past 12:00 noon.  (go figure.)

The food, via N2MEL, Mel our cook, did a great job. Frank, W2XYZ and Arnold, AB2N did parking and talk-in. They also helped with the sale of tickets for vendors and door prizes. Bill, NJ2H did a great job selling the 50/50 tickets. Mike, KC2Q tried to help wherever he was needed. 

All in all, it went smooth, and turned out to be very very successful.  Perhaps too succsessful they need more room for next years hamfests. So please keep posted for the new larger and better location, DATES & TIMES.

Hours: Sellers 6:30 am $10, + admission of $5.
($5 each additional space.)

Buyers: 8:00 am, adults $5, children under 12 free.

Breakfast & coffee available. Door prizes, etc.

Major vender: KJI Electronics.

VE Exam at 11:00

Location: Maecom Bldg. 100 Tornillo Way (off Shafto Rd. & Wayside Rd.) Tinton falls, NJ 07712.

Talk in: W2NJR Links, 449.525, 448.825, 146.490, 448.125, etc. (pl 141.),  or   146.52  simplex.

Directions:

From the South:  Garden State Pkwy. to Exit 105. Go to first traffic light, Hope Rd. turn right to next traffic light, Shafto Rd. turn right 0.5 miles  to Tonillo Way on left..

From the North: .    DITTO, GSP Exit 105.

From the West:  Take Rt. 18 to Wayside Rd. exit south to Shafto Rd. Cross Shafto onto Tornillo Way.      

From the East: Rt. 35 or Rt. 36 to Wycoff Rd. Just past Monmouth Mall. Go south/west  (becomes Shafto Rd.) past Hope Rd. 0.5 miles  to Tornillo Way.
